Contrary to popular belief, Psoriasis has no known cure. The present therapies address the underlying T-cell disorder that results in the inflammatory lesions and hyper proliferation characteristic of psoriasis, but uses a different approach from other treatments that seek to kill the T-cells by radiation (e.g. PUVA), chemotherapeutic agents (methotrexate or azathioprine, etc.), by immunosuppressant (with topical fluorinated steroids or steroid injections), or by monoclonal antibodies against T-cells. The approach used with Miraderm® cream therapy is to address the clinical effects of the disease and to attenuate the effects of the T-cells without destroying them.

In the case of atopic and sebhorreic dermatitis, the scale removal mechanism (salicylic acid) immediately helps in the removal of scales, while anti-inflamation agents subdue the redness accompanied with the illness. Contrary to other therapies, such as corticosteroids, Miraderm® builds on the skin layer rather then eroding it.  The patient will have a healthier looking skin, without the side effects.

Improvement for psoriasis cases takes longer with Miraderm® cream than the rapid results associated with steroids or UVB radiation (or other therapies used for psoriasis) because it takes longer to restore the health of the skin than it does to kill T–cells, but because of this, there is no rebound effect when therapy is terminated.

Miraderm® cream is safe and non-toxic, even to those without psoriasis.  The low concentration of salicylic acid facilitates keratolysis and promotes the access of the patented formulation to the affected tissue, which is also helped by the emollient base in which the agents are formulated. Unlike the other products on the market, it has no side effects because all of the constituents (except for salicylic acid) are recognized as safe for oral consumption and also have a long track record of safety when used topically.
