About the Inventor of Miraderm®,
Dr. Lorraine Meisner
|
Dr. Lorraine Meisner has been researching the role of
genetic damage in cell regulation, growth and repair throughout her
academic career. Her research on the effects of radiation began when she
was still in graduate school, and this was later followed by research into
the effects of chemicals in producing cell damage.
She then began to investigate ways of preventing or minimizing radiation
and chemical damage that led to the study of the protective effects of
antioxidants such as Vitamin C. In the early 1980's she formed a
collaborative effort with Michael Schinitsky, a pathologist, to study ways
of repairing the effects of stress, chemical and UV damage on connective
tissue.
Drs. Meisner and Schinitsky realized that UV damaged skin
could be helped by vitamin C in conjunction with specific nutrients.
Together they patented a formulation that not only helps protect cells
against sun-induced oxy radicals, but also stimulates collagen production.
This formulation served as the basis for highly effective commercial
anti-aging products.

In addition to being the inventor of this patented Vitamin
C anti-aging formulation, Dr. Meisner has six other patents and over 200
published articles in her name.
Dr. Meisner received her Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of Chicago
in 1966. She has been a faculty member at the University of
Wisconsin-Madison since 1968, and is consistently sought after as a
speaker and advisor due to her breakthrough work on anti-aging solutions
and skin disease. |
